Systane Lubricant Eye

22 March, 2008 (02:29) | Eyes | By: cosme

This is recommended by the eye specialist that I went for an eyecheck in January. My eyes were diagnosed to be fine. When I told her I always feel eye sore at work having to face the computer for eight hours a day. She then suggested me to get Systane Lubricant Eye drop and use it as needed (or at least two times a day). She gave me a 1.00 dollar off coupon (from Systane) to be used at phamarcy store.

I decided to get a pack of two as I will be using it often. Have been using it for more than two months and I felt good everytime after I use it. There is a brand called ‘Clear Eye drop’ or something like that irritated my eyes when I applied the eyedrops. This one is good for sensitive eyes like mine.

S-Factor Color Savvy Shampoo

Last weekend I went for hair straightening and asked the hair stylist for advise on hair shampoo to use. She didn’t not suggest me a specific brand of shampoo but advised me not to use shampoo that contains sodium chloride. When I asked her for the reason, she told me that that element is too harsh to my hair, and I have enough damage done to my hair (color + straighteneing). Before I left the salon, I saw S-Factor Seriosu Conditioner with Sunflower Seed which is what I have been using. This is the conditioner:

S-Factor serious conditioner

My hair has been dry and every once in a while I will use this minty-feel conditioner to treat my damp hair by applying it to the tail. So I asked the stylist about this brand and she told me this is one of the more ‘upscale’ brand among other shampoos such as Wella and on-the-shelf shampoo like Pantene and Head and Shoulder. Then she suggests me to get S-Factor Shampoo as it does not contain sodium chloride. However, S-Factor is typically more expensive than regular shampoo.

I decided to check that shampoo out at a local beauty supply store located on Stevens Creek and Winchester.

Before I went,  I have researched the price at online stores. Fortunately, the local beauty supply store carries S-Factor products and the price is reasonable. After some thought I decided to get Color Savvy Shampoo than the Moisturizing Shampoo. Here’s what I got:

I have been using it for one week and like the effects but I don’t quite enjoy the smell but I am going to get used with it. I am not saying it is awful but I am just not quite used with the smell. I also checked the Head and Shoulder for dandruff shampoo and Wella color shampoo that I have and discovered sodium chloride  is listed as an element in the ingredient.

Liquid Masks

15 March, 2008 (12:55) | Face, Skin Care | By: cosme

Today when I was tidying up by winter cosmetics, I came across these two liquid masks from Soskin. Before my mom bought me these masks, I was using the wet masks of random brand that I can find in Walgreen. However, after I started to use Soskin masks, I have never use any other masks since. Mainly because I am a lazy person and at the same time, I don’t want my skin to look bad when I don’t have enough sleep or when I was in a dry environment like the cabin of an airplane.

The good thing about liquid mask is it absorbs by the skin quickly when the skin is dehydrated and within seconds, the skin looks refreshed and acne scars will become not very visible.

Soskin Super Hydratant Masque (Used during winter when the air is extremely dry)

I use this one when my skin becomes very dehydrated from a sleepless night, or when I came back from a ‘desert-like’ area or every two weeks. Now that winter is over and spring has set in, it’s time to retire this and bring out my Purifying Masque.

Sokin Purifying Masque (Used during regular time)

Like super hydratant masque, I use this masque every two weeks to keep my skin hydrated. I saves my time by applying the liquid mask on my face, rub it using my fingers in circular motion until it is totally absorbed within 10 to 15 minutes by my face. Then I apply other skin care products like sun block and anti-aging cream and moisturizer. According to the instruction at the back, this should be used 2-3 times a week. So it really depends on personal habit in using the skin care product. Of course, to achieve the best effect, it’s better to follow the instruction.
